WATCH ABOVE: A video shot at Montreal’s Jarry Metro station last week that shows the dramatic rescue of a woman unconscious on the tracks is going viral after it was posted on social media.
MONTREAL — Alejandro Joubert said he and his friends had a once-in-a-lifetime experience last Thursday.
The men were sitting inside the Jarry metro station in Montreal just before midnight on March 12, when they noticed a woman in distress lying on the tracks of the subway.
“We heard the metro coming,” Joubert said. “They just jumped in.”
Joubert filmed the scene as his three friends leapt down into the metro tracks in order to attempt to save the woman’s life.
“They put aside the risk of being electrocuted,” Joubert added.
A witness called security officials just in time.

“We’re not expecting anything for this,” Joubert said.
“It was the human thing to do.”
Montreal city transit vice-president and city councillor Marvin Rotrand told Global News the “Good Samaritans” took a huge risk.
“It’s a live current, it’s a high-voltage, 750-volt current,” said Rotrand.
“It could be fatal.”
“What we counsel clients to do in an emergency is to use the emergency phone on the platform,” he said.
“There’s also a power interrupter they can use in extreme circumstances; just pull the switch.”
The power interrupter is located just below the emergency phone on most metro station platforms.
