REGINA – There were some tense moments around St. Peter and O’Neill schools this morning after a young student thought he saw someone carrying a weapon.

Police were called to the area just before 8:45 a.m. after they received a complaint – from someone who had the information 3rd or 4th hand – that a 10-year-old student said he’d seen someone with what he thought was a firearm.

A number of the schools in the area enacted some security protocols as a precaution, but police say the child’s account was inaccurate.

Police believe the student saw some workers in the area who were carrying tools.
