WATCH: A pod of orcas was spotted in Burrard Inlet Thursday morning
A pod of up to five killer whales was spotted going under the Lions Gate bridge near Stanley Park in the Burrard Inlet this morning.
The Vancouver Aquarium was live Tweeting the special appearance, saying the whales had likely moved across the inlet down into the Deep Cove area to hunt seals.
The whales caused quite an uproar on social media with many Vancouverites trying to catch a glimpse.
The aquarium’s cetacean research team is onsite sending updates.
