Man fatally struck by vehicle after stepping out of cab in Mississauga

TORONTO – A 47-year-old man was struck and killed by a truck after stepping out of a taxi van in Mississauga early Friday morning, Peel Regional Police say.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. on Winston Churchill Boulevard near Britannia Road West.

Police say the truck initially drove away but returned a short time later.

The driver has been charged with fail to remain.

The area remains closed for the police investigation.
