Prince Albert, Sask. police hunting for purse snatcher

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. – The search is on for a purse snatcher in Prince Albert, Sask. Police in the northern Saskatchewan city say there have been at least three attempts over the past nine days.

The first happened on Feb. 23. Police say a woman was approached by a man who attempted to take her purse on 10th Street East. The woman fell to the ground but did not give up her purse.

Then on Feb. 28, a man opened the passenger door of a vehicle parked on 15th Street East and grabbed a purse that was on the passenger seat.

The most recent theft happened on Tuesday when a woman was approached from behind on 4th Avenue West and had her purse snatched. She was shaken but unhurt.

Police believe all three robberies are connected.

The suspect is five-foot seven or eight with a thin build and a moustache. He fled in a silver SUV, believed to be a Ford Escape.
