Quebec Winter Carnival wins Event of the Year Award

QUEBEC CITY – The Quebec Winter Carnival won the Event of the Year Award at the Canadian Tourism Awards in Ottawa on Thursday.

The Quebec Winter Carnival, which takes place annually in Quebec City, was proud to be honoured as it has been working hard for several years to improve the quality of its tourism services.

“This proof of recognition is the result of strategic choices over the last few years,” said Jean Pelletier, General Director of Quebec Winter Carnival “Every year, we strive to offer things that have never been seen before and to create the most innovative and audacious programming. Carnival continues to prove its popularity with international visitors, tourists, and overseas media.”

The Carnival, in collaboration with Loto-Quebec, prides itself on offering a unique experience for Canadians, Quebecers and tourists from further afield.

It also provides significant revenue to Quebec, with over $10.1 million in tax revenues to both Provincial and Federal Governments and the creation and support of over 600 jobs.
