Snowmobiler drowns after falling through ice in Outaouais River

MONTREAL – A snowmobilier in his thirties drowned after going through ice on the Outaouais River in Vaudreuil-Dorion overnight.

“At around midnight, two men were riding on the river, on separate snowmobiles, when they decided to go off the marked trail,” said Sûreté du Québec officer Claude Denis.

One of the men fell into the water and his friend attempted to save him with a rope, to no avail.
