Today is the last day parents can apply for a child care subsidy after last year’s labour dispute between B.C. teachers and the provincial government.
Families of public school students impacted by the education dispute may be eligible for a subsidy from the provincial government known as the Temporary Education Support for Parents.
Parents with children 12 years and younger are eligible for $40 for each day of the labour dispute. The Ministry of Education says more than 245,000 families across the province have registered. Those parents represent a total of 310,000 children.
Almost all of the cheques have already been mailed out.
