The JUNO nominations are out, and there’s some Saskatchewan bands up for couple major awards.

Jess Moskaluke is nominated for breakthrough artist of the year, and country album of the year for her record, “Light up the Night”.

These are Moskaluke’s first ever JUNO nominations, but she did recently get the award for female artist of the year at the Canadian Country Music Awards.

Saskatchewan band, The Deep Dark Woods is nominated for roots and traditional album of the year for their record “Group for Jubilee”. This is their second JUNO nomination in this category. Their 2012 album “The Place I Left Behind” was up for the award as well.

Shooting Guns is up for metal or hard music album of the year. That album was named to the long list of the 2014 polaris music prize.
