TORONTO – Police are investigating after an explosion in the parking lot of a Toronto high school may have left some students with chemical burns.
The explosion happened shortly after 3:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of Royal Crown Academic School.
A teacher at the school was conducting a science experiment using a plastic bottle that had drain cleaner and water in it. The bottle ruptured and burned the teacher, two female students, and one male student.
All four victims received minor injuries and the teacher drove all victims to hospital.
Toronto Fire Services and Toronto Police are investigating.
