WATCH: Naramata Centre to close its doors after 70 years

NARAMATA, B.C. – It’s the end of an era for the Centre at Naramata which is closing its doors after 70 years. The Board of Directors of the Naramata Centre Society say it is with deep regret and heartfelt sadness that operations are being ceased and that the centre will close immediately.

Executives with the society say even following a successful Crossroads Fundraising Campaign, a review of the Centre’s future operations, revenue potential, staffing plan, expenses and ability to be financially viable lead to the decision to close the doors for good.

“The review, concluded that the Centre could not continue to operate in a feasible, sustainable, and responsible manner on a long-term basis,” says a news release from the Board of Directors. “Those who contributed to the Crossroads Campaign will be contacted to ascertain if they would still like to receive a receipt for income tax purposes or have their donation refunded.”
