Fire damages restaurant in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu

MONTREAL – A fire gutted a restaurant and residential building in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu Friday night.

The 5-alarm blaze broke out at  around 1 a.m. at the corner of St-Charles and Richelieu.

Thirty firefighters battled the flames in bitter cold temperatures.

No one was hurt but residents were forced to evacuate the building.
