Gran Colombia cuts loss to $3.8 million in third quarter

TORONTO – Gran Colombia Gold Corp. (TSX:GCM) says it lost $3.8 million in the third quarter of 2011, or one cent per share.

That was sharp improvement over the same quarter last year when the company lost $33.7 million, or 27 cents per share.

Gran Colombia says revenues increased to $38.8 million in the quarter on the sale of 22,317 ounces of gold at an average price of $1,684 per ounce.

Toronto-based Gran Colombia is primarily focused in Colombia, where it is the largest underground gold and silver producer in the country.
