A 36-year-old man is in custody following a seven-hour standoff with police in Vancouver Tuesday.
According to the VPD spokesman Randy Fincham, police responded late this morning to reports of an assault at an apartment building in the 800 block of E. 6th Ave.
Officers found a man with injuries to his face while the suspect refused to leave his apartment.
After seven hours of negotiation, police obtained a warrant to enter the apartment and took the suspect into custody with the assistance of a police dog.
The man faces charges in relation to the alleged assault.
