SASKATOON – Nolan Patrick and Braylon Schmyr each had a pair of goals as the Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the host Saskatoon Blades 5-2 on Thursday in Western Hockey League action. With the win, the Wheat Kings extended their win streak to four games.
Peter Quenneville also scored for the Wheat Kings (28-7-4), who are 7-0-2 in their past nine outings, while Tyler Coulter tacked on three assists.
Wyatt Sloboshan and Alex Forsberg supplied the scoring for the Blades (9-27-3), who have dropped back-to-back contests and sit last in the WHL standings.
Alex Moodie made 38 saves for Brandon as Saskatoon’s Trevor Martin kicked out 27-of-32 shots.
The Wheat Kings went 2 for 7 on the power play while the Blades scored once on five chances with the man advantage.

The Blades next game is Saturday at 7:05 p.m. when they take on the Everett Silvertips at SaskTel Centre.
