KELOWNA — It’s one of the biggest shopping event in the country. Even though Boxing Day has to compete with Black Friday, Cyber Monday and online shopping, Okanagan shoppers say they still prefer to hunt for deals on December 26.
“Boxing Day is a lot busier. I think that Boxing Day is more Canadian so people are more pumped for it,” explains a shopper at Orchard Park Mall.

Crowds inside the mall can mean chaos outside.
Some people have been complaining that they’ve had to circle around the mall before snagging a parking spot.
“It is busy, that’s one thing I notice. So it is hard to finding parking,” says shopper Hareld Glas. “I’m not big on crowds, but I guess that’s the price you pay for getting a deal.”
