HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Police have charged a Halifax Transit bus driver after a pedestrian was hit by a bus this morning in Dartmouth.
Police say the collision happened at 6:52 am near the exit to the Portland Hills bus terminal on Portland Street.
A 22-year-old woman was crossing Portland Street when she was hit by a bus turning left from the terminal. She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The 43-year-old bus driver was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. It carries a fine of $693.95 and four points on a driver’s licence upon conviction.
