Descartes Systems Group buys Dutch company InterCommIT for C$14.1 million

WATERLOO, Ont. – Logistics technology company Descartes Systems Group (TSX:DSG) has bought Dutch company InterCommIT for €10.1 million euros or roughly C$14.1 million in cash.

InterCommIT helps trading partners exchange data electronically.

“By adding InterCommIT’s technology and services to our logistics technology platform, our customers have access to a broader scale and scope of document-critical functionalities that are key to efficient supply chain and logistics operations,” said Edward Ryan, Descartes’s chief commercial officer.

Descartes’s network is used by airlines, ocean and ground freight carriers and other businesses to smooth the transportation flow of goods.

Based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, InterCommIT has about 40 employees.
