A search is underway for a man who went missing from an overturned boat near Mayne Island last night.
Coast Guard are scanning the area near Plumper Sound and Horton Bay by boat and air for the person, who hasn’t been seen after his boat overturned around 11 p.m. on December 12.

Multiple Coast Guard vessels and helicopters are scanning the area, and many volunteers are scouring the shoreline.
One other male was on the boat, but he was able to make it to land and contact RCMP early this morning. Coast guard officials are hopeful the missing man may have gotten to shore as well.
