Boil water advisory in Pierrefonds

MONTREAL —  A boil water advisory is in effect for some Pierrefonds residents after a water main break Friday morning on Pierrefonds boulevard.

Residents living between 18045 and 18125 Pierrefonds boulevard are being asked to boil their water for at least one minute.

City officials are working to fix the problem, but residents might not get running water until the end of the weekend.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“It’s not the end of the world but I think it will be uncomfortable if it’s the whole weekend,” Pierrefonds resident Lynn Carleton told Global News.

Residents like Carleton were given free water by the city. Employees spent the day at Parc Grier on Des Cageux street handing out bottles of water to those affected by the water main break.

Anyone looking for information about the boil water advisory is being asked to call the city of Montreal at 311.
