Workplace injury kills 42-year-old in St. Albert

EDMONTON — A 42-year-old man has died after he fell roughly 16 feet from a ladder at a construction site on Bellerose Drive in St. Albert last Friday.

The man was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was working for Donalco Western Inc. A stop-work order has not been issued at this time, but Occupational Health & Safety is investigating the incident.

This is the fourth workplace fatality in Alberta since last week.

Thirty-year-old James Ladino from Edmonton died Wednesday Nov. 19 following a workplace accident in Calgary.

A 60-year-old man was killed Thursday Nov. 20, also in Calgary, when a concrete wall he was working on fell and crushed him.

And a man in his 40s was crushed on a job site east of Calgary, near Carseland, on Nov. 24.
