Search and rescue crews have spent much of the night looking for a possible lost and injured man on Coquitlam’s Burke Mountain.
Twenty-seven members of Coquitlam search and rescue scoured the mountain for the man, but have found no trace of him so far.
They got a call from a person who was monitoring a short wave radio and heard the man’s distress call.
The rescuers have stopped for now, but plan to resume the search at first light. The weather is a concern because visibility is limited.
Michael Coyle with Coquitlam Search and Rescue told Global News they are not sure if it was an actual distress call and if anyone is missing, but they will do their diligence and investigate again.
They’re in the process of trying to identify the man. No missing person report has been filed.
