SASKATOON – The second annual ‘Cause for Paws’ telethon is being hailed a success in Saskatoon. On Saturday, it raised over $13,000 surpassing last year’s total by about $3,000.
The telethon is a partnership between Shaw TV and the Saskatoon SPCA.
This year’s show was televised and streamed online while adorable pets, animal enthusiasts and organizations that support the SPCA highlighted the important work the society does in the city.
Global’s Julie Mintenko, Peter Quinlan and Melissa Nakhavoly took shifts answering phones and taking donations.
Funds raised through the six-hour telethon will help provide shelter, care and nutrition for lost, abandoned and neglected animals.
