TORONTO – David Dixon brought a touch of nature to his signature luxe evening wear creations in the penultimate runway show at Toronto’s LG Fashion Week on Friday.
Rooted in a colour palette of black and white with pops of buttery yellow and shimmering silver, florals, foliage and even butterflies were threaded within the feminine looks.

Laser-cut petals cascaded the length of pencil skirts, while larger-scale hand-crafted flowers dotted the hemline of a showstopping trumpet-style dress. A flowing strapless dress featured a leafy print incorporating what resembled various forms of plants and patches of grass.
Dixon applied a deft delicacy to the garments, with ruffled-front pleated blouses and romantic embroidered lace overlay on dresses, a strong contrast to more form-fitting gowns and structured body-hugging bustiers.
Outerwear pieces were equally sleek and elegant, including crisp trenches and a glimmering silver coat.
