WINNIPEG – A pair of teens were startled by a man tapping a gun on their car window in St. Vital at about 10 p.m. Saturday.
The two were waiting in the car to pick up a family member working on Regal Avenue, northeast of Fermor Avenue and St. Anne’s Road, when two disguised people approached.
When one tapped a gun against the window, the driver immediately drove off as one of the men pointed a gun at the pair.
Police responded with the tactical support team and a canine unit and found two men hiding in a nearby field. They also found a .357 magnum replica BB gun in the immediate area, they said.
Franco Chartrand, 25, is charged with wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime, two counts of pointing a firearm, possessing a weapon, possessing a firearm or ammunition in contravention of a probation order and failing to comply with a probation order.
Moses Swan, 19, is charged with wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime and failing to comply with a probation order.
Both are being held in custody.
