Portion of Yellowhead Trail to close Sunday afternoon for bridge work

EDMONTON — A portion of Yellowhead Trail on the east end of Edmonton will be closed for three hours Sunday afternoon.

CN Rail will close the westbound lanes of the Yellowhead at 17 Street to replace the existing rail bridge span.

The lanes will be shut down to traffic between noon and 3 p.m. Sunday.

RCMP will be on scene to re-direct traffic.

Detour

Drivers will exit south onto 17 Street, then head to Baseline Road. From there, they will be directed to turn west and head to 75 Street. Drivers will head north onto Wayne Gretzky Drive to return to Yellowhead Trail.

Major delays are expected. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if at all possible.
