Over 20 Saskatoon apartments buildings have reported laundry room break ins and thefts.

Since August 1st, 2011, the thief or thieves have broken into laundry rooms and emptied the coin boxes. Some apartment buildings were repeated targets.

Police are advising owners and landlords are advised to implement a cashless system, empty laundry coin boxes regularly, restrict access to laundry rooms by installing a hand set lock system, increase visibility of the laundry room, address damaged doors immediately, and advise occupants of changes in collection policy.

Saskatoon Police Service also say landlords and owners can also enrol in the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program Phase 1 training seminar on October 26th.
