Surrey election results 2014: Full mayoral and council results

WATCH: One-on-one with Surrey’s new mayor Linda Hepner

Today, voters in Surrey went to the polls in the 2014 civic elections.

Linda Hepner has been elected the new mayor. Current mayor Diane Watts, who won 80 per cent of the vote in 2011, decided not to run this election in order to run federally for the Conservative Party in 2015. Hepner was the mayoral candidate for Surrey First, the party Watts has ran for the last decade.

Surrey currently does not have a ward system – instead electing eight councillors who will represent the city as a whole. There has been some discussion among candidates this election about moving back to a ward or partial ward system. This is something that a future city council would decide.
