Todoruk’s 50-year-old tree was taken to city hall on a flatbed and positioned by a crane.

The tree will remain at the corner of Main Street and Market Avenue for the holiday season.

Over the next few days, the city’s forestry department will decorate the tree with more than 9,000 multi-coloured LED bulbs by hand. The lights will be fastened to the end of the branches with plastic ties.

The ceremonial lighting of the tree will take place Friday just after 6 p.m.
