EDMONTON – A 33-year-old suspected drunk driver narrowly missed hitting a child when he smashed his truck into a Sherwood Park home early Wednesday morning.

RCMP say it looks like the Sherwood Park man struck a parked vehicle, then veered off the road and into the home around 3:20 a.m. The truck broke through the outside wall and foundation of the house, coming to a stop inside a bedroom where a three-year-old was in bed sleeping.

Luckily, no one was injured. RCMP received a number of calls about the incident around 3:20 a.m., including from concerned neighbours who were awoken by the impact.
