An elderly man is dead after accidentally wandering in front of a train this afternoon in Chilliwack.
RCMP said it happened at the Eagle landing Parkway and Ashwell Road training crossing at about 3 p.m.

The crossing gates were down and it’s currently unknown why the man wandered in front of the train.
Traffic along the road will be blocked for several hours while police and CN officials investigate the tragic accident.
