Cargolux to get revamped Boeing 747-8 freighters this week after dispute resolved

BRUSSELS – Luxembourg-based freight airline Cargolux says it will receive its first two Boeing 747-8 freighter planes on Oct. 12 and 13.

The delivery of the newly revamped 747-8 freighter had been scheduled for Sept. 19 and 21 but was delayed amid a dispute between the two companies.

Cargolux said Wednesday that the disagreement “related to the performance of the aircraft and the engines” had been resolved.

The dispute was a blow to Boeing, which has faced repeated delays and problems in its redesign of the 747-8 planes. Cargolux was to receive the first of the overhauled freighters, which are longer and able to carry more weight than previous versions. They were initially scheduled for delivery about two years ago.
