Lethbridge Riding Centre roof collapses

CALGARY- At around noon on Sunday, the roof of the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association (LTRA) building collapsed.

The building was empty at the time, no one was riding.

No people or horses were injured . There was one horse in a pen close to the arena that was scared but not hurt.

Atco came out and shut off the building’s gas and the power has been turned off.

The LTRA is now waiting to talk to their insurance company to find out an estimate of damages.

Riding classes have been cancelled until further notice.

It’s believed that heavy snow is to blame for the roof collapse.

The building has a quonset shaped roof. The part still standing is the stable area, the part levelled is the actual riding arena.
