Alleged burglars arrested after 911 pocket dial

TORONTO – Police say a New Mexico man unknowingly called 911 and confessed to a break-in during a 45-minute phone conversation.

According to Roswell Police, Aaron Burrell, 37, made the call to a couple of friends last month, speaking about the crime he just committed.

Investigators said during the conversation, Burrell mentioned the address where the burglary took place and where he stashed the stolen $4,500 television.

A woman, who was heard in the phone call, identified the house where the robbery took place as her mother’s.

The woman was also arrested for her involvement in the robbery.

Meanwhile, officers spoke with Burrell’s wife during his arrest and asked one of the investigators “is this because my husband’s phone went off again? His phone dials 911 every once in a while.”

Both Yvonne Thyberg, 35, and Burrell were charged with burglary.

A court date has yet to be scheduled.
