Kozorys is a director in the non-profit sector and a member of the board of the Lakehead Social Planning Council. Her opponent, Mauro, is the chair of the Liberals’ Northern Caucus.

This was a particularly tight race this election and last – it was the closest race in Ontario in 2007. Mauro won by only 50 votes.

PC candidate Fred Gilbert came in third place.
