TORONTO – Toronto mayoral candidate John Tory received a major endorsement from outgoing Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion on Friday.

“If the Toronto residents elect John Tory, I know he will make every effort to provide the leadership that is lacking at the present time by the mayor of
Toronto in providing that co-operation [in the Greater Toronto Area],” said McCallion in a joint media release.

McCallion, who is retiring from politics after 36 years, recently backed Bonnie Crombie for the Mississauga mayoral seat over candidate Steve Mahoney.
