KELOWNA – The Brigadier Angle Armoury in Kelowna, which is home of the BC Dragoons, as well as the Vernon military camp are both in lockdown mode this morning following the shootings in the nation’s capital.
Gates at both of the Kelowna and Vernon military sites that would normally be open, are closed.
“All units across Canada are taking on a heightened state of vigilance. So we’re going to close the gates and let everything cool down a bit,” explains Captain Jeff Daley with BC Dragoons.
RCMP in Ottawa confirm the shooting victim, who was a member of the Canadian Forces, has died. One male suspect is also confirmed dead.
