RCMP have closed a portion of a road in Richmond this morning to investigate a fatal car accident involving an elderly pedestrian.
Police arrived at Blundell Rd. at about 7 a.m. this morning after reports of a pedestrian being struck at St. Albans Rd. The elderly man, who was a resident of Richmond, was pronounced dead at the scene after attempts to revive him failed.

The driver involved in the accident stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
The road will remain closed with the Richmond Roadside Safety Unit continue their investigation.
Police are asking the public to use caution when driving in darker conditions and when walking outside, to wear bright clothing.
RCMP are also asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the Richmond Safety Unit at 604-278-1212.
