WINNIPEG – Manitobans are enjoying unusually warm weather, with a record 21.2 C set in Melita, Man., on Monday.
While only one record was set, more could fall on Tuesday, as mild air flows into the Prairies off the Pacific Ocean, Environment Canada said in a weather summary..
“The weather should remain warm right through the work week,” Global Winnipeg weather specialist Mike Koncan said.

The high in Melita smashed the former record of 18.3 C set in 1999. However, records for the town only go back to 1993.
The Winnipeg forecast predicts a high of 17 C, well short of the record 25.6 C set in 1953. The normal high for this date is 8 C. The high at the Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg on Monday was 12 C.
The Winnipeg high is predicted to hit 16 C through the rest of the week, with highs dropping to 14 C and 12 C on Saturday and Sunday. Rain is possible on Wednesday, but it’s mostly clear skies through the week.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Winnipeggers can be glad they’re not facing the record low of -10.1 C set in 1991.
