Police made multiple arrests and laid numerous charges in connection with a dangerous driving incident in Surrey last Friday.
Two stolen cars from Chilliwack were observed travelling at high rates of speed into the city around 1 a.m. and were followed by BC RCMP Air 1 helicopter.
Half an hour later, one of the vehicles, a white Ford Escape, had driven off road into a ditch in the area of 64th Ave and 156th St.
The 27-year-old driver was arrested at the scene. He is well known to police.
The second car, a grey Ford Escape, continued driving and made a stop at a parking lot in the 7100 block of Hall Road a short time later.
The 34-year-old driver from Langley and his 23-year-old passenger from Delta tried to run away through an alleyway, but were arrested. They are also known to police.
All three suspects were arrested on multiple charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving and Breach of Conditional Sentence Order.
Possible stolen items were found inside the cars, which are being examined for evidence.
