VANCOUVER – It will be a good day to stay inside and eat turkey for some B.C. residents.
Meteorologist Mark Madryga says a moisture-rich and elongated Pacific front is sweeping through the B.C. coast on Monday. Residents on the west side of Vancouver Island have already seen heavy rain overnight and pockets of that rain will hit other regions as well.
A heavy rainfall warning is in effect for Metro Vancouver and the western Fraser Valley for areas closest to the North Shore Mountains.
About 20 to 30 mm is expected to fall until late evening on Monday and residents who live near the mountains will get about 50 mm.
Madryga says Tuesday will be much drier with a little sun and only scattered showers.
