It looks like the City of Lethbridge and the Lethbridge Sport Council is starting to make up for the loss of the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
Today, the Council announced the Skate Canada International is coming to Lethbridge in 2015.
This will be the second time the event has come to Lethbridge, the first coming in 1990.

It’s also the first time it will be held in Alberta since Red Deer played host in 1994.
Elected Director of Skate Canada Rob Garossino knows Lethbridge considered all angles when presenting its bid.
“What really stood out was just the completeness and the thoroughness of the bid. Everything was considered.”
2012 Skate Canada Champion Kaetlyn Osmond was in Lethbridge for the announcement. She knows better than most how impressive the event can be.
“Skate Canada is one of my favorite events during the year and to have it in Lethbridge where I train is incredibly exciting.”
More than 200 volunteers will be needed to help out before and during the four-day event, which is estimated to bring 5.5 million dollars into the local economy.
