A recent tip about a teenage boy who went missing five years ago has Vancouver police asking for the public’s help in an attempt to find him.
Justin Rutter was 14-years-old when his family last saw him in Ottawa on Oct. 8, 2009. Although police in Ottawa have received almost 50 tips over the past five years, according to the Ottawa Police Criminal Investigations Directorate Supt. Don Sweet, none have been confirmed.

Now, a recent tip suggesting Rutter may be in the Vancouver area has the Ottawa police working with the VPD to follow-up on the information.
At the time of his disappearance, Rutter was 5’4″ tall, 110 lbs., with a slim build, short light brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light brown and white hoodie.
Along with Ottawa police offering a $5,000 reward for information on the teen’s whereabouts or leading to the arrest of the person responsible for his disappearance, they have released an artist’s rendering of what Rutter could look like now, at the age of 19.
