Litke has only been in office for a little more than a year, replacing Dan Ashton who left in mid-term to become an MLA.
That leaves two declared candidates for the mayor’s office in Penticton, but nominations are open until this Friday.
Litke’s announcement also means the sitting mayors in the Okanagan’s largest three cities will not be running again.
