A judge has now set a trial date for April 4, 2016,  nearly five years after the incident.

Jujhar Khun-Khun, Jason McBride and Michael Jones remain in custody.

Their lawyers asked for the trial to be moved to a different city to ensure an unbiased trial, but the judge ruled it will remain in Kelowna.

The jury trial is expected to last six months.
