WINNIPEG – As Winnipeggers prepare to choose a new mayor Oct. 22, all seven candidates will participate in a forum Thursday that will be live streamed at GlobalNews.ca/Winnipeg.
A media panel will join moderator Peter Chura, Global Winnipeg’s Evening News anchor, and the seven candidates at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The forum will also be broadcast on ShawTV Channel 9.

Viewers and audience members are invited to participate in the debate by tweeting @ShawTVWinnipeg using the hashtag #YourMayor. ShawTV will also hit the streets to solicit questions for the candidates from Winnipeggers.
“We feel it’s important that the community has a voice,” said Kourash Doustshenas, chair of the government relations committee of WinnipegRealtors, which is sponsoring the forum.
Those unable to watch the forum live will be able to see it on ShawTV at the following times:

- Oct. 11, 2-4:30 p.m.
- Oct. 13, 8-10:30 p.m.
- Oct. 16, 5-7:30 p.m.
