WATCH: Vernon school fundraiser turns personal

On Friday, the school held a fundraiser to raise money for Alder’s and Randlesome’s families.

“I think it’s not just about the run but it is also about showing that the school is here to support them,” says grade eleven student Kiona Yskes.

Alder’s mother says she was overwhelmed when she heard about the fundraising plans.

“Our English language has so many words, but all I could think of was ‘wow, that’s amazing’,” says Lara Alder.

The school is still collecting donations at its campuses. Anyone wishing to donate by cheque can go through Okanagan Landing Church or Alexis Park Church.
