Road reopens after semi flips, 2 sent to hospital

WINNIPEG – A semi flipped onto its side under a railway bridge, and two people sent to hospital after a crash Thursday morning.

It happened at about 10 a.m. on William Stephenson Way at Westbrook St. near Shaw Park.

Firefighters worked to rescue the occupants from the wreck, and two were sent to hospital in unstable condition but were later upgraded to stable, police said.

Traffic was blocked until the semi was righted and towed away about noon.

No word yet on the cause of the crash or possible charges.
