MONTREAL — He was the first athlete to win a gold medal on Canadian soil. His second gold medal was won four years later in Russia, making him the first mogul freestyle skier to do so twice in a row.
But an Olympic gold-medal hat trick is not in Alexandre Bilodeau’s future. Earlier this year, the Quebecer announced that he would retire from competitive sports to focus his energy into his career.

“I’ve become the best skier I could’ve ever been,” Bilodeau said then.
“Now it’s my time to turn to something else, and prove to myself that I can do something else in life — not only be Alex, the skier, but be Alex, the person.”

He hung up his skis to attend the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University in Montreal, and next week, Bilodeau will share his plans for the future: a career with KPMG, an internationally renowned audit, tax and advisory services firm.
