PC Blaine Higgs wins in New Brunswick bellwether riding Quispamsis

Progressive Conservative Minister of Finance Blaine Higgs has won his seat in the bellwether riding of Quispamsis.

The riding has elected an MLA from the governing party every year since 1974.

Higgs won the riding with over 50 per cent of the vote, beating Liberal candidate Mary Schryer and NDP candidate Angela-Jo Griffin. Higgs beat Schryer in the 2010 provincial election with 50.7 per cent of the vote.
